Privacy Policy

1.Overview

NotiHis is an offline-first app that records and manages your device's notification history. It is designed so that all data stays exclusively on your device.

• No internet access: The App does not hold the network (INTERNET) permission. It is technically unable to transmit any data to the provider or to third parties.
• No accounts, no cloud: No sign-up is required. No data is uploaded to any cloud.
• No tracking, no ads, no analytics: The App contains no third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.

2.What data does the App process?

To fulfil its purpose, the App reads the notifications arriving on your device through the Android system service "Notification access" (NotificationListenerService). For each notification, the following information may be stored locally:

• Name and package name of the app that posted the notification
• Title, text, and additional text lines (e.g. messages from the expanded view)
• Timestamp of arrival
• Notification system metadata (category, priority)

App icons are not stored; they are loaded from the system at runtime when needed.

Note on sensitive content: Notifications may contain personal or sensitive data (e.g. messenger messages, emails, codes). The App only sees what the operating system passes to it and stores that content unchanged on your device. You decide which apps are recorded and can hide or exclude apps from recording at any time.

3.Where is the data stored?

All recorded data is kept in a local database within the App's private, protected storage area on your device. This data never leaves your device, except in the following cases that you initiate yourself:

• Share function: When you actively share a single entry, the App passes that entry's content to the target app you choose (e.g. a messaging or email app). This happens only at your request.
• Device backup (Android Auto Backup): If you have enabled your device's backup feature, Android may include the App's data in the backup of your own Google account. This backup is controlled by your device and Google settings, not by the App provider. You can disable backup for this App in your Android system settings.

4.Permissions

• Notification access (BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE): required to read and record notifications. You grant this permission explicitly in your Android system settings and can revoke it there at any time.
• Start after reboot (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): allows the recording service to be re-activated automatically after the device restarts.

5.Retention and deletion

• The App offers a configurable automatic retention period (e.g. 7, 30, or 90 days, or unlimited). Older entries are deleted automatically.
• You can manually delete individual entries, entries within a time range, or the entire history at any time within the App.
• Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device.

6.Sharing with third parties

Your data is not shared with third parties. The provider has no access to the data stored in the App.

7.Legal basis (GDPR)

Because all processing takes place exclusively on your device and under your control, and no data is transmitted to the provider, the provider itself does not process users' personal data. To the extent that processing occurs, it is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by granting notification access and may withdraw at any time.

8.Your rights

Under the GDPR you generally have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability. Since all data resides locally on your device, you can exercise these rights directly by viewing, exporting (via Share), or deleting the data in the App.

9.Children

The App is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children for the provider.

10.Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when necessary, for example when the App's functionality changes. The current version is provided with the App and/or on the Play Store.
